Ewelme Village Preschool follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) the new statutory framework which was last updated in September 2021. This enables us to provide a stimulating enriching environment in order for us to teach, develop and mentor your child through play. Most importantly, our team are dedicated to working closely with your child to ensure they learn at their own pace and to fulfil their own potential. Moreover, your child’s key person will always be planning your child’s next developmental steps.
Early years learning concentrates on seven areas split between prime and specific areas of learning.
The prime areas of learning are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional development
- Communication and Language development
- Physical development
The specific areas of learning are:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Two-year old progress check
Your child’s key person is also responsible for carrying out a two-year old progress check between the ages of of 30 – 36 months. This is primarily focussed on the 3 prime areas of learning and development. Parents are invited to discuss the report and contribute to ‘next steps’.
