Opened in 1970, Ewelme Village Preschool is located in the thatched reading room of Ewelme Village Hall, in a beautiful and historic part of Oxfordshire. We are a registered charity (No. 1067529) and rely on a voluntary management committee which is run by parents. We take children from 2.5 – 4 years old.
In order to keep our children interested and stimulated within their environment, we are continually developing and changing our room to link in with our topics. We draw on the different strengths of our team to provide fun and exciting opportunities for children to learn through play.
We encourage children to develop independence, self-confidence and respect for others. Together with parents and carers we nurture every child’s learning and development, and support them to fulfil their individual potential.
In addition, each term is focussed around a pre-planned topic, which we use to develop a child’s enjoyment in learning. In some of the activities children decide how they will learn and in others an adult takes the lead in helping the children take part.
We also take pride in promoting the British values within the setting, which is embedded in our Curriculum.
